In early December 2015, construction is scheduled to begin for the Phipps Ocean Park/Reach 7 Beach Nourishment Project. This project will place in excess of 1,000,000 cubic yards of sand on the beach from an offshore sand source. The sand will be placed along the shoreline between the north end of Phipps Ocean Park and the north end of the County’s Kreusler Park.

On Monday, November 23, trucks will begin hauling heavy equipment in support of the project to the north parking lot of Phipps Ocean Park. For approximately two weeks, residents can expect the south lane of South Ocean Boulevard near Phipps Ocean Park to experience short-term, periodic closures for deliveries into the north parking lot. Traffic will be directed by flaggers. Please use caution when traveling on South Ocean Boulevard near Phipps Ocean Park.
